Happy new year to you all!!
As I write this on the 5th January Christmas is all but a distant memory accepting that perhaps the evidence is still there for some (round the stomach!) The first four months of the season are well behind us too and the super start that both first and reserve teams have made is well and truly evident in their respective league positions. Terry and Dan are both doing great jobs and have really got their guys playing some nice football.
Off the field progress is being made into the structure and development of the club which will help safeguard the future of football for the Haslemere area. This can be a slow process and whilst we are moving forward we don’t want to stop there so I would urge all of our club members to help out with all manner of jobs. Take an interest in your club and what the committee is trying to achieve and volunteer to help – all of you have a role to play. Many hands make light work and the more volunteers we have helping the more we can push the club forward.
The social side of the club is also building, we have two motivated volunteers who are busy organising events to help with the atmosphere and also to raise all important funds. Although the Oktoberfest evening was poorly attended it still made some good money for the club and those that did attend had a great time. The next event is a Race Night in February so keep an eye out for more information coming soon and our end of season event is promising to be a fitting end to a promising season (to date!)
It only leaves me to say I wish both teams and all the players the very best of luck for the rest of the season, keep training, keep working hard and most of all keep enjoying your football.
